  • How hot is EVERCOR® Marine Decking?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is a Cork composite containing 50% natural cork. This along with the Synthetic compound and the typical profile of the deck pattern keeps it cooler than other deck products.
  • Will EVERCOR® Marine Decking be damaged by the sun or extreme heat?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is a composite product made from a synthetic compound and Natural Cork. Both products are extremely stable under UV light and high heat. You can be certain that neither the sun nor high heat will change the structure of your EVERCOR® deck in any way.
  • Will EVERCOR® Marine Decking fade in the sun?
EVERCOR® is made from both natural and synthetic materials. While the color that you choose for your boat will be stable and won’t fade, the 50% cork will. The natural fading will add beauty and character to your vessel.
  • What is EVERCOR® Marine Decking?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is a Cork composite containing 50% natural cork. EVERCOR® Marine Decking is applied to your boat in fabricated sheets.
  • Can I put a logo or boat name on my EVERCOR® Marine Decking?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is fully customizable. You can add a boat name, fish rule or custom pattern to your deck so that it looks exactly like you want it to.
  • Is EVERCOR® Marine Decking comfortable to stand on for a long period of time?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is made from a synthetic compound and Natural Cork. The synthetic compound is often used in anti-fatigue mats specifically because of it’s semi rigid attributes. It can take a beating and be relatively soft, not like walking on aluminum or solid timber. Cork is the bark of the Cork Oak Tree. It is naturally soft and easily compressed so as part of your EVERCOR® deck it adds to your comfort.
  • What is the warranty for EVERCOR® Marine Decking ?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking has a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty when fabricated and installed by a certified EVERCOR® Marine Decking fabricator and installer.
  • Does EVERCOR® Marine Decking stain?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking is made from a synthetic compound and Natural Cork. The synthetic compound is used in other applications in the most extreme circumstances and it is impervious to grease, oil and most liquids (definitely any that you might find on a boat including wine). Cork is a closed cell natural product, it therefore resists staining from all liquids including squid ink.
  • How can I clean EVERCOR® Marine Decking?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking should be washed down after every use. If there is a persistent mark, use a little bit of detergent and feel free to hit it with your pressure cleaner. If there’s something that just won’t come off, use our EVERCLEAN cleaning kit to bring it back to look like the day you first saw it.
  • Is EVERCOR® Marine Decking anti-slip (grippy)?
EVERCOR® Marine Decking has a matte finish, which makes it grippy just as it comes. As your fabricator machines your chosen pattern into it, it becomes even more so as the rebated pattern gives your toes something to hold on to.
  • How do I care for marine flooring?
Corinthian Marine carpeting and flooring is easy to maintain. It requires occasional hosing off and vacuuming. When necessary, use a non-solvent based, high-quality carpet cleaner to remove stubborn stains, always being careful to remove all cleaner residues with water. It’s also best to avoid pressure hoses and harsh bristle brushes (even nylon, if its too stiff – soft bristles only)
  • What makes marine carpet and flooring different from standard residential carpet?
Marine grade carpet and flooring is designed to withstand the tough marine environment without fading or degrading. It is produced from PVC and/or solution dyed fibers enhanced with UV stabilizers that protect it from extreme sun, salt and moisture. The backings applied to marine flooring are also uniquely designed for the application – whether to wrap around pedestals and boat contours, or to lay on top of a finished fiberglass floor – the quality backings Corinthian applies are as important as the beautiful face of the flooring.
  • Do I need Glue Down Marine Flooring or an AquaMat® Custom Fit Boat Mat?
Glue Down Marine Flooring is sold to replace boat flooring that has been glued to the boat floor. It is permanently adhered to the surface and cannot be easily removed. It must be “torn out” for replacement. New glue down marine flooring is designed to be cut on site and installed with an adhesive directly to the surface of the deck. Much of our glue down marine grade flooring is moldable for the contours of a boat and hatches but is not suitable for binding or snap-in boat mat applications. AquaMat® Custom Fit Boat Mats are designed to lay on top of fiberglass liners and are usually held in place with snaps. They are cut to shape and bound on the edges. When you receive your new AquaMat® it will be ready to be placed directly onto your boat floor. Most of Corinthian Marine’s AquaMat® flooring utilizes our exclusive AquaLoc® backing that provides unbeatable durability and unparalleled skid and slip resistance.
  • Will marine carpet or flooring get mold / mildew?
It depends. The fibers and yarns will not promote mold or mildew growth on their own. However, the right combination of organic matter (dirt and spills), moisture and trapped heat can cause mold or mildew growth. The simple solution is to clean up dirt and spills before you cover and put the boat away.
  • Will my marine flooring get hot?
Some colors are hotter than others, however, most of our flooring is cooler than a bare fiberglass deck. Heat absorption tests indicate there is some heat retained, however all flooring will retain heat in hot/sunny environments.
  • How much will it cost to replace my boat flooring?
The cost to replace your boat floor depends on the size of the floor you want to cover and the type of material you select. Corinthian prices by the square foot so you can calculate an estimate: Direct Glue Down Standard width of material you choose x length of the floor area you are covering (bow to stern) X sf price = Cost of material AquaMat® Measure the length x the width of all the pieces nested together x sf price = Cost of an AquaMat® Corinthian Marine has an estimator on each glue down product page to assist you in calculating cost, just plug in the length and the price will calculate for you based on your individual dimensions. Our specialists are happy to guide through the estimating process without any obligation or commitment on your part. For a finished AquaMat® estimate, there are a lot of variables involved. Please contact us at (585) 208-4830 or by filling out the Contact Us form and we can do our best to quote or estimate the costs for you.
  • How do I clean my AquaMat® Custom Fit Boat Mat?
Basic upkeep is the best defense to keep your AquaMat® carpet or flooring looking new. Maintain marine grade carpet face by hosing off or vacuuming regularly. Do not pressure wash. Use a non-solvent based, high-quality carpet cleaner to remove stubborn stains, always being careful to remove all cleaner residues with water. We do not recommend any harsh chemicals such as bleach and suggest that you test in a small area first. If you use a bristle brush, make sure to use soft bristles only, especially with the new AquaWeave materials. Stiff bristles and hard scrubbing may damage the surface texture and coatings. Lastly, an AquaMat® boat mat should dry completely before storing. When storing, always roll your AquaMat® boat mat carpet face out and NEVER fold.

  • Do I need to tear out my glued down flooring?
For the optimum installation it is best to replace the existing flooring with new flooring to a prepped floor – just like you would in your home. We do offer removal for an additional labor cost.

  • Is DEKit pet friendly?
Many people use DEKit to keep pets firmly planted on the boat, however DEKit is made from PE/EVA foam material, so if scratched or clawed at enough, the product will tear or rip. With this being said, DEKit’s closed-cell material will not absorb water if punctured. DEKit is not warranted against pet damage.
  • What is DEKit?
DEKit is more than your average marine flooring. DEKit was built to withstand everything the avid angler has to throw at it. We built a product that we wanted on our personal vessels that would perform beyond what has been known as the industry standard. Our custom formulated closed cell flooring is anti-microbial, non slip, anti fatiguing decking designed to withstand the riggers you put your vessel through. If you do not compromise quality and demand the absolute best from your vessel then you are in the right place.
  • Does DEKit get hot?
With our closed cell structure DEKit will disperse and reduce heat. Keep in mind that darker colors will be warmer to the touch than lighter foams, but will not exceed heats uncomfortable to touch.
  • How do I prep the surface?
We recommend starting with Dawn Soap and water for your initial prep. Let dry. Then use Isopropyl alcohol to further clean the surface. Let dry. After, you will be ready to start laying down your DEKit product. We offer removal services for an additional cost, please contact us for details.
  • What is Light Amplification?
Light amplification or sun burning occurs when sunlight reflects off gel coat or metal surfaces concentrating a beam of light similar to that of a magnifying glass. This magnification can expose DEKit to temperatures greater than its max operating temperature of 175 ̊F.
  • How long will my DEKit last?
With proper care and storage, your DEKit can be expected to last 5 to 7 years.
  • How do I properly clean my DEKit?
DEKit cleans best with soap, water and a stiff brissle brush. For difficult stains SoftScrub, Simple Green, 409, or bleach is recommended. Do not use acid-based cleaners such as Hull Cleaner. Just as with non skid, it will be more difficult to clean blood that has been left to dry. Reel in, bloody the DEK, rinse and repeat.
  • Can you do custom logos?
Yes we absolutely can custom cut logos. All we need from you is a vector file of your logo and we can create a custom DEKit product for you.
  • How is DEKit applied?
DEKit uses an easy peel and stick application. We utilize a strong 3M pressure sensitive adhesive that prevents corner peeling and shrinking of your DEKit product from exposure. With proper application you can expect your DEKit to last 5-7 years.
  • Will the product stain?
DEKit is extremely stain resistant, however a few substances, such as fuel stabilizers, bird droppings, rust, and mustard can be problematic if not attended to in a timely manner. Prompt attention to these types of spills will ensure easy removal.
  • Can I place DEKit over my existing non skid?
Yes, absolutely. DEKit can be applied to a wide variety of non skid. If you have any questions about your non skid and proper application please contact us.
  • What is the warranty?
DEKit pieces at the time of purchase are warranted to be free of defects. DEKit material comes with a 3 year workmanship and material warranty. The PSA adhesive cannot be warranted due to many outside issues that may be present during installation. Light Amplification is not covered under DEKit standard warranty, see light amplification tab below for more information regarding this topic.
